WeCommerce Feature List

WeCommerce is not a feature-complete implementation of System Five. It was never designed to be, it is an extension to System Five’s abilities, and it offers the basics of E-Commerce functionality. There are many things that System Five does that WeCommerce does not do, and probably will never do. WeCommerce has easy integration with System Five.

Command Line Switches

Like many programs System Five allows you to set command-line switches. These switches can streamline the login process, auto-select your terminal number, preselect a database, and more.

Setting the Switches

In the old DOS days everyone typed out the commands when launching a program. If you had a lot of switches to set, you'd create a batch file which would launch the program with all your switches typed in for you. In Windows a similar process occurs behind the scen…

Installing System Five for the First Time

Installing System Five is no more difficult than installing any other Windows application. There are only two things you need to do:

	* Run the Pervasive installer
	* Run the System Five installer

After this, you simply copy the dataset provided by Windward to your serving computer, launch System Five, and tell it where the data is.

The first thing is to create the backup itself using a compression program. The file name should be all lower case with no spaces and formatted as
